tape and grommet
This is a sample of our edging and grommets. While we are extremely proud of the quality and durability of our shade cloth, the finishing touches truly separate us from the competition.
We use a 2 3/4" batten tape to finish our shade panels. The tape is folded over the edge of the cloth so only 1 3/8" shows on both sides. It is then double stitched by the hardest working sewing team in the nation - right in the heartland of the U.S.A.
When our clients are purchasing shade cloth other than black, they often request an edging tape color to match the fabric. While we know this makes perfect sense, the only color reinforcement tape that will withstand UV exposure is black. Any other color edging will deteriorate long before the shade cloth has lived its useful life.
Even our grommets are superior to the competition. We use #4 brass grommets which measure 1" in diameter on the outside and 1/2" diameter on the inside - nearly twice the size of competitors products. Typical spacing for grommets is every 2' but we will put them wherever you like.
After we have completed your shade cloth, no one does a better job of making it sure it ships to you quickly and without damage than our shipping team. They should have their own wing in the Shipping Hall of Fame. We challenge any competitor to ship your custom order faster.
