• Are Shade Sails Waterproof?
  
  Sail shades supplied by Sail Shade World US are designed to provide the coolest shade possible and for this reason they are constructed from a slightly porous Sail Cloth that allows hot air to escape through the fabric. Shade Sails will resist a slight shower, but should not be considered truly waterproof.
  
  
• How Easy Is The Installation Of A Shade Sail?
  
  This very much depends on the site and the skills of the installer. Typically, two people reasonably competent could install a Shade Sail in a couple of hours. Note that more time may be required if solid attachment points are not available - in which case additional time will be required.
  
  
• What Can A Shade Sail Be Fixed To?
  
  Shade sails are easily attached to structures that provide a good firm fixing. This could be the wall of a house or wooden or metal posts concreted into the ground. Bear in mind that Shade Sails are quite large and the forces generated at the mountings by even a small amount of wind can be considerable.
  
  
• What Can Sail Shades Be Used For?
  
  Sail shades are designed to bring shade into the garden and provide a shelter from the sun's harmful rays. The sail cuts out up to 90% of harmful UV and provides a stylish and pleasant area to enjoy your garden or backyard.
  
  
• How Long will they Last?
  
  Because our shade sails are UV stablilized and are extremely well constructed with webbed edges, they are guaranteed for 10 years.
  
  
• What Fittings Will I Need?
  
  On a square sail you will need two snap hooks, four pad eyes (or eye bolts) and two turnbuckles to tension. A triangle shade sail requires only one snap hook, three pad eyes and one turnbuckle. To gain further extension from the support if required, a length of stainless steel chain can be used.
  
  
• How Much Distance Should Be Allowed Between The Shade Sail And Fixing Points?
  
  The minimum distance should be 11 inches to allow for adequate tensioning.
• How Do I Clean A Shade Sail?
  
  A hose and soft brush is all that is recommended to clean your sail.
  
  
• What Colors Are Available?
  
  We offer 4 colors on the pre-made shade sails and 13 colors on the custom sails.
